As Chief Executive Officer of Cargojet, Dr. Virmani spearheaded the creation of the company in 2002, first purchasing fifty percent of its predecessor Canada 3000 Cargo in July of 2001. With plans in hand for expansion of its services as well a major rebranding of the company’s image which included a new name and logo, Virmani then acquired 100% of Canada 3000 Cargo in January 2002, and renamed his organization as Cargojet.
As Executive Vice President, Jamie B. Porteous has 20 years of experience in the airline industry. Porteous began his career in cargo at Air Canada where he was Director of Operations, responsible for cargo movement control on a global basis.
When Air Canada decided to sell its cargo aircraft fleet, Porteous moved to the customer side of the business, spending three years as consultant and director of a rapidly growing, full-service transportation business.
Recruited by CanAir Cargo Ltd in 1996, Porteous assumed dual responsibility as Director of Sales & Operations for Canada’s only all cargo overnight carrier. In 1997 CanAir Cargo was acquired by Royal Aviation Inc.and Porteous went on to assume the role of Vice President Sales & Service and was instrumental in building the revenues of Royal Cargo Inc. from a first year basis of $25M CAD to $48M CAD in the fiscal year ended April 1999.
Porteous is a partner in the new investment group that purchased the assets of Royal Cargo Inc. in August 2000, to form Canada 3000 Cargo Inc. which has now created the new entity, Cargojet.
Pauline Dhillon has extensive Transportation and Logistics experience in Air, Maritime and Customs, and has been an integral part of North America’s largest cargo airline, CARGOJET, since it’s inception.
Ms. Dhillon heads Cargojet’s Marketing, Public and Government Relations, focusing primarily on the corporate image of the newly formed company and played an active role in developing the brand, both domestically as well as globally.
Over 30 years of industry experience predominately in senior cargo sales and operational roles at American Airlines Cargo and Air Canada Cargo prior to joining Cargojet in 2005. Mr. Johnston is primarily responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with all major national accounts and growing Cargojet’s international presence globally by focusing on strategic business development opportunities. Additionally his responsibilities include charter sales development and expansion of interline traffic and relationships with some of the world’s leading airlines.
Mr. Kim is a Canadian CPA CA and has been the CFO of Cargojet since 2010. Mr. Kim began his career at Ernst and Young in Calgary and has held financial management roles in various companies in the communications, marketing, relocation services, and broadcasting industries.
Prior to joining Cargojet, Mr. Kim served as the VP Finance for CTV and CHUM Ltd. and VP Finance for Royal Lepage Relocation Services.Mr. Kim joined Cargojet in 2008 as VP Finance.
George Sugar has been Senior Vice President of Flight Operations at Cargojet Inc. since January 2006. Previously, he was the Chief Pilot from the company’s inception in 2002, and has held management and supervisory positions at other airlines.
Graduating from the Seneca College aviation program in 1980, he is a fully qualified Airline Transport Licenced B767 Check Pilot with ratings on other Boeing and Airbus aircraft, and over 15,000 hours of flight experience in worldwide international operations.
Paul Rinaldo has over 33 years Aviation Engineering & Maintenance Management experience for major Canadian carriers including Wardair Canada, Canadian Airlines, Royal Airlines, Canada 3000, Air Transat and Cargojet as well as extensive experience in aircraft fleet management and reliability comprising of Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed & Mcdonald Douglas aircraft: A300, A310, A320, A330, A340, B727, B737, B757, B767, L-1011 and DC10.
Mr Rinaldo established Cargojet as a front runner in Maintenance & Engineering within the Canadian aviation industry.
Ms Anju Virmani serves as Chief Information Officer for Cargojet Inc since 2002. In this capacity, she oversees all aspects of Information technology, infrastructure, business process development and information security. At present she is leading Cargojet through a digital transformation.
In the past, Ms Virmani has been an adviser, entrepreneur and consultant in information technology industry for more than 30 years in Canada and the US.
Ms Virmani holds a B.Sc and a B.Ed from the University of Delhi, India and an MBA from Baruch College, City University of New York. She has a keen interest in corporate governance and holds the designation of Charter Director, McMaster University. As part of her community involvement, Ms Virmani has served on many not for profit and government boards.
